The Korean Association of Medical Technologies are at full speed preparing for the 35th world congress of IFBLS. The Korean delegation says that the sessions will be a mixture of Korean and international speakers, and there will also be a social program, e.g., a visit to the fortress Hwaseong, a Unesco World Heritage and visits to laboratories.

Song Gi Seon encourages biomedical laboratory scientists from all over the world to come to Korea and she hopes that the conference will give the profession even higher recognition:

“We want to get recognition to the profession inside Korea and to the rest of the world. In Korea biomedical laboratory scientists cannot open a private clinic without a doctor as is the case in Japan and Taiwan. Getting international networks is another good reason to come to the congress I 2022. We also want to show some of the more underdeveloped countries the technological skills and knowledge in Korea which can be a help to them”, she said.

We want to get recognition to the profession inside Korea and to the rest of the world.

The Korean delegation has noticed that the Danes are very fluent in English. That is not the case in Korea, but there will be lots of interpreters etc., they pointed out.

The Korean delegation from Korean Association of Medical Technologists are: Song Gi Seon, director international department, Eone Laboratories, and Kim Hyung Rak, Ph.D., vice President, planning department, St. Carollo Hospital.
